ERE Environmental Policy:

At ERE we thrive to apply sustainability principles in our corporate social responsibility strategies by balancing profits and investments, improving our tenant and customer experience and decreasing our environmental impact. In this way we are targeting and improving the triple bottom line and their interaction: people, planet, and profit.

At ERE we establish baseline environmental policies focusing on:

  • Energy and water conservation
  • Waste reduction, recycling, and reuse
  • Material selection
  • Chemical management
  • Supply chain management
  • Community engagement

These policies allow us to be consistent and minimize confusion or misinformation as it may apply to decisions regarding sustainable products or practices.

At ERE during our material selection process we strive to minimize the use of virgin materials, meaning materials that are harvested from the earth and used for the first time in a product.

We will accomplish this by first mandating the evaluation of all materials for refurbishment and reuse. If we need to purchase a new product, we will seek to source products that have the highest level of recycled content possible. If a product must be purchased using virgin materials, we will seek to source products made with rapidly renewable materials, meaning ingredients that grow to full maturity within 10 years such as bamboo, cork, or soy-based products. Lastly, we will strive to utilize materials that are recyclable at the end of their useful life.
